AMOS™ / BUILT ON THE ANCHOR™ METHOD
Business decisions. Career moves. Difficult conversations.
AI generates more than answers. It offers interpretations, fills gaps, and makes assumptions that can shape how you understand the problem and what you do next.
In Stanford-led experiments involving more than 2,400 participants, people who received overly agreeable AI advice became more convinced they were right and less willing to repair interpersonal conflicts. They also trusted that AI more. Read the study ↗
Agreement can make an assumption feel like a fact. If AI builds its advice around it, you may become more certain without seeing the situation more fully.
That’s what we mean by a knot: an unexamined assumption, an expectation, or a missing distinction that keeps a situation difficult to see clearly.
We built AMOS™ to govern how AI contributes.
AMOS is designed to find that knot and help you examine it, so you can see what you’re missing and reason your way forward.
Developed by Amanda O’Reilly · Anchor Method Operating System
WHY THIS MATTERS
A decision can become tangled with expectations, assumptions, or competing priorities. More information may leave the knot untouched.
Sometimes what changes the situation is a distinction you hadn’t considered, a connection you hadn’t made, or an option you couldn’t yet see.
01 / HOW IT WORKS
AMOS works with what you bring to the conversation, directing AI’s intelligence toward what needs examining, connecting, or developing.
Distinguish what you know from what remains uncertain or difficult to draw on.
Examine the assumptions, competing considerations, or expectations that may be obscuring a perspective or choice.
Develop supported connections and implications that help you see another perspective, weigh your options, or understand what changes.
Reassess as new information arrives. Revise an interpretation, develop the reasoning further, or offer practical help when warranted.
These are aspects of the architecture, not fixed steps. AMOS governs the AI’s contribution throughout the conversation. You remain free to question it, change direction, and choose.

We created our first working prototype, GENE™, to test AMOS in real conversations. Its name draws on the idea of a gene in human DNA, a reminder of our purpose: keeping the human in AI.
Powered by AMOS
Software that helps you see what you might be missing, explore what follows, and consider your next move with greater perspective.
ALPHA TESTING · INVITATION ONLYYou’re waiting for a reply. You wonder what you did wrong and ask AI what to say next.
AI can draft an apology without questioning whether you have anything to apologize for.
Through GENE, AMOS helps distinguish what you know (they haven’t replied) from what you’ve assumed (you did something wrong).
The question changes from “How do I make this right?” to “Do I know anything is wrong?”
AMOS finds the knot before the next message is built around it.
Illustrative example.
03 / THE FUTURE WE WANT TO HELP BUILD
Our purpose is to use AI’s growing intelligence to strengthen human understanding, critical thinking, and discernment, helping people see what they’re missing and reach their own considered conclusions.
We’re developing AMOS for organizations that want AI to help people understand situations, examine assumptions, and make informed decisions.
GENE is our first working implementation. Our next ambition is to bring AMOS into other AI products and internal applications, allowing organizations to retain their chosen model.
We’re inviting engineering teams, researchers, and AI product builders to develop that next chapter with us.
THE INTEGRATION VISION
Your interface and relationship with users.
Governs how AI contributes throughout the conversation.
Supplies the intelligence and reasoning capability.
We are developing AMOS toward portable, licensable infrastructure. Potential delivery models include access to a hosted service or licensed implementations.
Cross-model portability and external integrations remain development and research objectives.
THE FOUNDER’S PURPOSE
“My work centres on how people understand themselves, interpret their circumstances, and make decisions.
Through mentoring, writing, and developing The ANCHOR™ Method, I’ve seen how someone can know the facts and still be unable to see a way forward. Sometimes one distinction or a different perspective changes what becomes possible.
After my book came out, readers began describing those same moments of recognition. I kept wondering, what if that kind of clarity could be available in the very moment someone needed it?
AI brings extraordinary intelligence to a conversation. I built AMOS to govern how that intelligence contributes, helping people see what they’re missing while keeping judgment and choice with them.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It means governing how AI uses its intelligence to respond throughout a conversation: what it treats as evidence, which interpretations it develops, how far it reasons, and when it needs your input.
AMOS also examines what you can already draw on and what remains difficult to access, so the response is directed toward helping you reason your way forward.
A convincing answer can reinforce the very assumption that’s keeping you stuck. AI may agree with your interpretation, fill gaps with plausible explanations, or recommend action without enough context.
AMOS is designed to govern that contribution by examining assumptions, developing what the evidence supports, and helping you see what you might otherwise miss. The purpose is to strengthen your reasoning, rather than make the system the authority over it.
Yes. AMOS is designed to support clear conclusions, recommendations, and practical help when your request and the available information support them.
Sometimes you need an answer. Sometimes a distinction or an overlooked perspective changes which question needs answering. AMOS governs how AI makes that contribution throughout the conversation.
You can be capable, informed, and clear-headed and still be close enough to a situation to miss a useful perspective.
GENE offers a place to examine a decision, explore an idea, or work through competing considerations. Its purpose is to help make relevant understanding and possibilities easier to see and use.
Asking AI to challenge you requests a particular response. AMOS governs how AI contributes throughout the conversation.
It governs what the system treats as evidence, which interpretations it examines, how it develops useful reasoning, and how it revises as new information arrives. That may mean questioning an assumption, supporting a well-founded conclusion, or developing a connection you haven’t yet considered.
The purpose is to make the reasoning useful, not simply to produce disagreement.
Our goal is to help people gain greater access to their own reasoning, perspective, and choices.
A useful conversation should contribute something you can carry forward: a distinction you can recognize, an assumption you can question, or a clearer way to approach a decision. Whether AMOS strengthens that capacity over time is an important research question.
For companies building AI products, organizations adopting AI, and individuals and families using it to work through consequential situations.
We are seeking research and technical partners who share the ambition to make increasingly capable AI strengthen human critical thinking and judgment. GENE is the first working implementation; the longer-term goal is to bring AMOS into the AI products people already use.
Our Research Lab examines AMOS through blinded comparisons, repeatable test harnesses, structured case studies, and review of individual conversation turns.
We examine how it handles evidence, develops useful reasoning, and responds as new information changes the picture. Participant feedback helps us understand what people find valuable. Together, these inform development while we continue investigating reasoning quality and longer-term human benefit.
